We're super excited! We've only dreamed about having access to this property and we're extremely lucky to have it. The design of this gathering is in response to two things: 1. the amazing Caldera space and what we thought it was asking for, and 2. the ever-changing landscape of our community and our desire to grow, inspire, and connect. We'd love it if you would join us.
This information will be periodically updated as necessary. Please check back with us every few days for new information.Caldera Arts Center sits on Blue Lake (west of Sisters (31500 Blue Lake Drive)). If you don't know ... Caldera is an artist retreat center and summer camp on Blue Lake ... tucked behind Suttle Lake about 15 miles west of Sisters. Caldera's 90 acres includes Blue Lake and is pretty much next to Suttle Lake and Scout Lake. There are 25 traditional Sioux tipis and a few A-frame cabins on the property ... a couple of nice fire pits and outdoor gathering areas with stages, and a beautiful retreat center with a huge hearth hall with a mega fireplace, a couple of artist studios and a library and a big commercial kitchen. Beautiful spot up in the woods and we have the place to ourselves for the whole weekend! Check out the virtual tour of the facilities at http://www.spinvirtualtours.com/RMLSTour.spin?virtualTourId=93
People have asked if the gathering is kid friendly and it totally is. We're going to have some daytime activities well suited for the whole family and food with kids in mind. Music will be off in the brookside fire pits and inside a good ways from the tipis (and won't be loud or obnoxious anyway). The property is a summer camp and there's a lot for the kids there including canoes and camping in tipis!
As a special offering, we are honored to be working with Molly Carroll of Flourish (flourishbend.com) on a special kids' curriculum for Saturday. PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR THAT CURRICULUM. RSVP AND INFO ON KIDS' AGES WILL BE REQUIRED TO BETTER DESIGN THE DAY'S ACTIVITIES.
Unfortunately dogs aren't allowed on the site, sorry.
Speaking of music ... we're going to have some special musical guests ... including a few special live music and DJ sets. There'll also be some groovy activities in the library and two open stages near the firepits for evening jams (bring your acoustic instruments!) Don't forget about the talent show on Saturday night. Everyone has a special talent ... let's see it! Music will be uplifting and nourishing and never too loud or obnoxious.

"Catalyze" your spiritual evolution by activating the divine blueprint of your soul for personal empowerment. Learn about the process of clearing out dense patterns and transitioning into a more light-based body or ascension. An activation/healing will be optional for those interested. (*hint: this is a perfect time to "clean house" before the energetic shift of the solstice!*)
"Forget the dances you've been taught
Remember the dance that only you know"
Dance Open is an opportunity to immerse yourself in pure movement and personal discovery. Release any notion of "what dance looks like". Calm your mind and awaken your body. Dive into the dance that has never been. Celebrate your spirit and soul in motion.
Soul Motion embraces the ancient practice of movement as meditation. This ecstatic dance form provides a container in which the Self becomes present and the Unknown becomes our playground. Come ~ Expand your movement vocabulary. Learn to relax while in motion. Experience the pleasure of moving from the inside out. Open to all levels of experience and abilities.
Scientists are confirming what the mystics have known for 3000 years, that consciousness creates our reality. Come and explore how the mystical traditions use sound by taping into the vibratory network of the universe. Please bring yoga mats, blankets or other items to aid in your comfort.
Although haiku is referred to as poetry it is more accurately understood as a meditative art and practice. Haiku requires great mental and emotional quietude because quietude is the prerequisite for cultivating searingly clear awareness--an awareness that penetrates through our everyday superficial perceptions to encounter the profoundly deep and exquisitly moving essence of Being itself.
In the Saturday workshop you will get a clear understanding of the life long value of developing a haiku practice as we look in surprizing depth at the work of the greatest classical masters of haiku.
You will then have 24 hours to create your own haiku which we will read and discuss in our Sunday session with singular emphasis on how to sense and develop your transcendent insight.
Tap into your own radiant being through Hoopdance. Release the notion that hooping is all about knowing complicated tricks. Hooping is about tapping into your spirit, letting go and unleashing your inner beauty. Learn the aspects of flow in this workshop...explore the place where mastery meets grace. If you are an expert hooper or only know how to hoop around the waist, this is for you. Explore the journey through feeling, movement and freedom; tap into your body, heart and soul.
Consonant Embodiment is learning to bring our deepest realization of who we are and what is most important to us into its fullest expression through our bodies. Though many traditions have highly specialized language to describe the aspects of what our bodies are, those parts are readily accessible to us subjectively as our thoughts, feelings, vitality, and the sensation of our physical form. Our breath intersects each of these aspects and, with practice, can be used as a means of conducting our truest selves through our bodies and into the world around us. This workshop is an introduction, through accessible language and practical exercises, to some of the ways we can explore this potential.
What would it be like to walk through our lives completely open to our experience? To face our lives boldly, rooted in our deepest self and accepting of all those around us? Energized and open, we have the opportunity to embody our full potential: to open brightly; to shine with the light of the sun; to be sure of ourselves and loving towards those we meet. In this workshop we will cultivate openness through movement, exercises, and discussion. Participants will leave with a body-felt sense of ALIVENESS, as well as practical tools for cultivating this state in their daily lives.
Cultivate trust, open communication, playfulness and connection in this 2-hour workshop that integrates partner stretching, counter balancing, partner acrobatics and flying transitions. We will move through a partner flying sequence creating our own graceful dance while deepening our self awareness and our relation to others.
Come learn about your right brain's creative, intuitive and healing powers. We will use teaching, experiential exercises, and sharing as we explore the wonders of the right brain.
